BEYOND JOURNALISM is a one-week intensive training dedicated to helping you create a new business model using your journalism skills.

If I had a quarter for every time a journalist has told me they wanted to “pivot to content,” I’d be rich! But there’s some truth to the sentiment:
Writing, research, interviewing and other editorial skillsets are highly coveted in other industries. The goal of this training is to help you see new possibilities and avenues for your work, so you can lean into what you’re passionate about and still make good money.
My name is Jenni Gritters, and I’m a business coach and strategist for creative solopreneurs.
I spent over 12 years working in the journalism industry as a writer, editor and consultant. I edited in-house and took on media gigs as a freelancer for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, Forbes, and beyond. As the industry changed, I kept pivoting my business: First to focus on content marketing, then to build a content agency, finally to create a coaching and education company.
As I made these pivots, my income tripled. My husband was able to leave his job as a nurse, we bought a house in a mountain town, and we finally had financial margin.
I am a master at pivoting and have helped hundreds of other freelancers — many journalists — do the same, with the goal of setting up a sustainable work life that feels safe. No more feast and famine. No more chasing down late payments. No more being rejected over and over again. No more living in fear of the next layoff.

January 14, 10:30 am PST: Skillset to services (service menus, offers, case studies & confidence)
January 15, 10:30 am PST: Finding clients (marketing, ideal client messaging and niche-ing)
January 16, 11 am PST: Working session (update your website, refine your service menu, create your business plan)
January 17, 9 am PST: Group coaching with Jenni
Where: On Zoom, each session is 45-60 minutes
Cost: $199 (or $49 when you join my group coaching program, SUSTAIN)
